Estate jewelry is jewelry that has been owned before — not a style, and not necessarily old. Most of what reaches this case comes to us across the counter, from families in San Diego and further afield, and we buy it to sell rather than to melt. That is the whole reason a case like this exists: a piece worth keeping is worth more intact than it is as metal and loose stones.
Because every piece is one that already existed, no two cases look the same and nothing here can be reordered. When something sells, it is gone. If you are looking for a particular period, stone or maker, tell us — we are buying every week, and it is often easier to watch for a piece than to find one on a shelf.
What counts as estate jewelry?
Any piece that has had a previous owner. Some of it is genuinely antique, some is a few decades old, and some is barely worn. The word describes where a piece came from, not how old it is.
Is estate jewelry a better value than new?
Often, yes. A piece that has already been owned is not carrying the cost of being made again, and older work frequently shows hand-finishing that would be expensive to reproduce. You are also buying something nobody else is wearing.
Can you repair or restore an estate piece?
Yes — we repair and restore jewelry in-house at our own bench, including pieces bought elsewhere. Worn settings, tired clasps and stones that need re-seating are everyday work here.
Can you resize an estate ring?
Usually. Resizing happens at our bench, and we will tell you before you buy if a particular ring cannot be sized safely — some settings and some older constructions cannot.
Do you buy estate jewelry as well as sell it?
We do, and it is where most of this case comes from. We are a licensed jewelry buyer, the verbal appraisal is free, and there is no obligation to sell once you know the number.

Estate, antique and vintage — the words are not interchangeable
Estate means previously owned. Antique is usually reserved for pieces around a hundred years old or more. Vintage sits in between and is used loosely enough that it is worth asking what someone means by it.
We will tell you which one a piece actually is, and what we know about where it came from. Where we do not know, we will say that too — provenance is often incomplete, and a confident story is not the same as a documented one.
