Buying an engagement ring in La Jolla

Most of the rings on this page were made a few feet from where they were photographed — designed at our bench, cast, set and finished in-house, with GIA-certified center diamonds we import directly and choose by hand. No middlemen means better stones at honest prices, and a jeweler who can tell you exactly how your ring was made, because we made it.

If nothing here is quite right, that's normal — most of what we make never reaches the case. Bring a photo, a sketch or just an idea to the showroom and we'll design around it. Made-to-order rings are usually ready in about three weeks, and if there's already a diamond in the family, we'll happily build the ring around it.

Common Questions
How much should I spend on an engagement ring?

Whatever is comfortable — the old “rules” mostly sell diamonds, not happiness. We make rings across a wide range of budgets, and we'll tell you honestly where the money makes a visible difference and where it doesn't.

Are your diamonds GIA-certified?

Center stones are GIA-certified, and we'll walk you through the report — cut, color, clarity and carat — so you can see exactly why a stone is priced the way it is.

Can you make a custom engagement ring?

Yes — it's most of what we do. Design it with us at the bench, choose the metal and center stone in person, and your ring is usually ready in about three weeks.

Can I use a stone I already own?

Absolutely. Family diamonds are welcome — bring the stone, or the piece it's set in, and we'll design a new setting around it.

In More Detail

Signed engagement rings: Cartier, Tiffany and other makers

Alongside the rings we make, the case carries signed engagement rings that came to us estate — Cartier, Tiffany and other houses, bought across the counter rather than ordered from the maison. They are priced as what they are: pieces that have already been owned, by a jeweller who bought them to sell rather than to break up.

Each one is a single ring. There is no second size in the back, and when it sells it does not come again, so if something here is close to right it is worth seeing sooner rather than later. If you are looking for a particular maker or setting, tell us and we will watch for it — we are buying every week.

Where to see engagement rings in San Diego

The showroom is at 1200 Prospect Street in La Jolla, a few minutes from central San Diego, and the diamonds are shown loose as well as set so you can compare stones side by side rather than through a website.

Come with a budget rather than a specification if that is easier. It is usually faster to be shown three stones at a price than to decide between four Cs in the abstract, and nothing on this page has to be bought the day you see it.
