Pre-owned Rolex in San Diego, done properly
Every watch in our case is opened, timed and pressure-tested at our own bench before it's offered — not shipped in sight-unseen from a wholesaler. We've bought and sold Rolex since 1926, and because we service watches in-house, we know exactly what we're selling you.
The case changes constantly: sport models, Datejusts, discontinued references, full sets and watch-only pieces alike, each described honestly for what it is. If you're hunting a particular reference, tell us — our buyers see watches every week.
Everything here can be seen in person. We're on Prospect Street in La Jolla, ten minutes from central San Diego, and we'd always rather you tried a watch on than took our word for how it wears.
How do I know a pre-owned Rolex is authentic?
Buy from someone who opens the watch. Our watchmakers inspect the movement, case and bracelet of every piece in-house before it's sold — and we've been doing it for three generations.
Do your watches come with box and papers?
Some do, some don't — each listing says exactly what's included, and a watch-only piece is priced accordingly. A full set adds value, but a good watch stands on its own.
What are Rolex papers, and do they matter?
The papers are the warranty card and documentation a watch left the retailer with, showing its reference and serial. They help establish history and they lift resale value, so a full set costs more. They are not proof of authenticity on their own — papers can be separated from a watch or forged, which is why we authenticate the watch itself rather than the paperwork.
Are the watches serviced before sale?
If a watch needs service, it gets it before it reaches the case — timed and pressure-tested at our bench. Ask us about the service history of any watch you're considering.
Are you an authorized Rolex dealer?
No. We're an independent jeweler — not affiliated with Rolex S.A. or Rolex USA — which is why we can sell discontinued and hard-to-find references without a waitlist. Rolex is under no obligation to warranty-service a watch bought from us, and we'd rather you knew that up front than found out later.
Can I see a watch in person before buying?
Please do. We're on Prospect Street in La Jolla, a short drive from central San Diego, open Tuesday to Sunday and closed Mondays. Call ahead if there's a particular reference you want waiting for you.
Do you offer layaway or financing?
No — we no longer offer layaway, and we don't offer financing. Pieces are bought outright. We do sell each watch personally rather than through a checkout, so the price, payment method and delivery are all settled with you directly before anything is final.
Can you service the watch after I buy it?
Yes — the same watchmakers who assessed it. Movement service, polishing, refinishing, bezel and crystal work and water-resistance testing all happen at our own bench, and your watch never leaves San Diego.
What if you don't have the reference I'm looking for?
Tell us anyway. Our buyers see Rolex every week and the case turns over constantly, so a reference that isn't here today may be next month. We'll keep an eye out rather than talk you into something else.
Do you buy Rolex as well as sell them?
Every week — it's how the case stays stocked. If you're selling rather than buying, we'll appraise your watch free and make an offer the same day, working or not.
What the bench actually does before a watch is offered
“Inspected” means different things at different shops. Here it means the caseback comes off. Our watchmakers examine the movement, case and bracelet, put the watch on a timing machine, and pressure-test it before it goes in the case. If it needs service to run properly, it gets serviced first — we would rather hold a watch back two weeks than sell you one that needs work you didn't know about.
That same bench handles movement service, polishing, case and bracelet refinishing, crystal and bezel work, crown and tube replacement, bracelet stretch and link repair, and water-resistance testing. It is the reason we can be specific about a watch's condition rather than describing it in adjectives: the people who assessed it are the people who work on it.
Independent, not authorized — and what that means for you
We are not an authorized Rolex dealer, and we are not affiliated with Rolex S.A. or Rolex USA. We are an independent jeweler that has dealt in these watches for three generations. It is worth being plain about, because it cuts both ways.
What you give up is the manufacturer's warranty and a new watch in a sealed box. What you gain is availability and honesty: no waitlist for a reference nobody can get, no allocation, and a price set by the watch in front of you rather than by a list. We will also tell you when a watch isn't worth what someone is asking — including when that someone is us.
Buying a pre-owned Rolex in San Diego
Most people who find us are searching from somewhere in San Diego County and want to handle the watch before deciding, which is exactly the right instinct. The showroom is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10:30 to 7:30, and closed Mondays. No appointment is needed, though calling ahead means we can have particular references out and ready when you arrive.
Because each piece is individual, we sell them personally rather than through a checkout — we'll confirm the details, the price and, if you'd like it shipped, the insured delivery arrangements before anything is finalized. If you're outside San Diego, we ship fully insured within the United States, signature required.
