The New 2025 Rolex Perpetual 1908 with a Solid-Gold Bracelet

Rolex is a very conservative brand. When I use that term, I’m talking about conservative in the classic sense. Very slow and measured when it comes to new things. So, when Rolex does something new, its a pretty exciting thing. Rolex recently released the 1908 line as a dress watch replacement to the Rolex Cellini. Now, the new 2025 Rolex Perpetual 1908 is features a new "Settimo" bracelet made of 18k yellow gold and a new in-house movement, the caliber 7140. Two significant developments for a company that usually makes very incremental changes is significant. The bracelet is specifically designed for the 1908 model and is composed of very small links, creating a unique and refined aesthetic. The caliber 7140 is a self-winding movement known for its precision and reliability.

The Settimo Bracelet

This bracelet is entirely new and exclusively designed for the 1908 model. It's crafted from 18 kt yellow gold and features a unique seven-link design. The links are small and polished, creating a supple and comfortable feel on the wrist. The bracelet has a discreet and compact attachment system to connect it to the case. For me, Rolex’s attention to detail when it comes to bracelets is always special. In this case, it seems even more special.

The Caliber 7140

This is an entirely new movement developed and manufactured by Rolex. It’s a self-winding mechanical movement already revered for its precision, power reserve, and reliability. The movement features Rolex Côtes de Genève on the bridges, a signature decoration. Translating directly to Geneva Coast, the Côtes de Genève is a pattern of scratches traced on the smooth parts of a watch movement. It can look like stripes or more intricate patterns. The 7140 also includes an openwork oscillating weight in yellow gold.

The 1908 is known for its elegant and understated design, inspired by early Rolex Oyster Perpetual watches. It is available with a black or white dial, and features Arabic numerals at the three o’clock, nine o’clock, and twelve o’clock position. The watch is Superlative Chronometer certified as well.
