The center is a natural amethyst measuring 20.5 x 13.5 mm, weighing approximately 15 ct, surrounded by 16 further gemset stones — amethyst, blue topaz, citrine, iolite, garnet, green tourmaline and peridot — weighing approximately 6 ct combined. Seventy-six natural round cut diamonds add approximately 0.4 ct, F-H in color and VS-SI in clarity. The brooch weighs 18.9 grams and is stamped "BI 18K".
