Sell to a Private Party If You Can

This will almost always happen these days online. Whether you do it through an auction site like eBay, a social media marketplace, a classified site like Craigslist or another online site, here are some tips for selling. Research market prices and be realistic about your expectations. Prioritize safety, too. Meet in a public place or use a third-party escrow service. Use a trusted payment method like bank transfers or trusted payment platforms to minimize the risk of fraud.

Sell to a Local Jewelry Store

Look for a reputable store that buys and sells luxury watches and that can authenticate your watch. You can get an immediate payment in person. However, selling on consignment can take longer because the store can't guarantee an immediate sale. A well-established dealer can provide a genuine quote and ensure the safety and privacy of your watch sale. A licensed jewelry buyer is a good idea, too. You can feel confident that you're dealing with an expert who can buy your watch for cash. 

Handle things Carefully

When you transfer ownership, sign a bill of sale and provide any original documents and paperwork. Keep copies of all paperwork and transaction details for your records. You may also want to service your watch ahead of time to ensure the buyer doesn’t feel cheated afterward. (That’s not necessary usually for a jeweler.)
