I really love the new Yacht-Master.
I mean I really, really, really love the new Yacht-Master.
I don’t think there are words that can make it clear enough how much I love this new watch. With the titanium giving this Rolex 42 a lightweight feel regardless of the large size. The look of it is a substantial change from the Yacht-Master’s almost snooty, ostentatious designs in the past.
As far as I’m concerned, there are few watches as impressive in the current Rolex catalog as the titanium Yacht-Master. Like Rolex’s stainless steel, the titanium isn’t what you find everywhere. RLX titanium is a grade 5 titanium alloy. Grade five titanium is sometimes referred to as the workhorse of the aeronautics industry because of its superior strength and corrosion resistance. It can also withstand very high heat.
This isn’t the first titanium wristwatch from Rolex but most critics agree that it’s the best.
That’s how I feel about it. Compared to other Yacht-Masters, this looks like a real tool watch and not just a fancy watch pretending to be one. With a brushed case, the look is informal and sporty and not so… Well, snobby is too harsh a term but you get the point, right?
The new Yacht-Master looks functional and powerful. With the dark gray tones of Grade 5 titanium setting the stage, it just looks wonderful. Add to it the matte finish of the bezel and the striking black dial and it seems beautifully restrained. I find the near monotone look of the new Yacht-Master really impressive. It has a very clean and very functional look to it, and I think it’s a fantastic watch.
If you’re in the market for a pre-owned Rolex in San Diego, get in touch. Give me a call and let me know what you’re looking for. I can promise you that you’ll be glad you did.
