This is a beauty. For me, the Rolex Datejust has always been a beauty, of course. This particular model, though, is just incredible. The 2025 Rolex Datejust 31 with the red ombré dial is special. It has an amazing and unique dial design, which transitions from a bright red at the center to a darker shade towards the edge. That really evokes the imagery of sunset. Do you care about how that happens? This dial effect is achieved using a sophisticated Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) process, allowing for precise control over color intensity and gradation. There, now you know. Seriously, though, it’s just another example of Rolex’s attention to detail.
The watch also boasts a classic fluted bezel, a President bracelet, and a high-precision movement. Like all Rolexes, it embodies both elegance and innovation. It’s just, for me, really a striking design. The red ombré dial is the standout feature, creating a visual gradient effect that changes depending on viewing angle and lighting. The gradient achieved through the PVD process draws attention in an almost impossible way. For me, it’s almost like how in some paintings, the eyes seem to follow you. It seems different from any angle and you almost do a double take.
Of course, there’s also the iconic fluted bezel, a hallmark of the Rolex Datejust. I think it adds a touch of sophistication and reflects light beautifully. When you add the President bracelet to that, you’ve really got something special. The bracelet is crafted from 18K yellow gold and the design is known for its semi-circular links and concealed Crownclasp.
For the technical watch enthusiasts, the Datejust 31 is powered by the Caliber 2236, a self-winding mechanical movement with a silicon hairspring, ensuring precision and reliability.
This is a Rolex, so it shouldn’t surprise you that the Datejust 31 is certified as a Superlative Some models feature brilliant-cut diamonds adding extra sparkle and luxury to the dial. For me, Rolex hit it out of the park. What do you think? I’d love to hear from you.
