Hans Wildorf, the founder of Rolex, had humble beginnings. In fact, he was an orphan. At twelve years old he had no family but he worked hard even at that age and that meant he was able to say at one of the best boarding schools in Switzerland.
When he turned nineteen, he began work at an old schoolmate’s family’s firm, a watch exporter. Thus history was made. He learned all about Swiss watches and other watch manufacturers and in 1905 he founded the company that isn’t just a household name but is also the premier name in its industry.
